Its always a pre conception that as we appear to be link to
the ambulance service we get all our equipment from them, and free.
This could not be further from the truth, L.I.V.E.S works very closely with
East Midlands Ambulance Service but all our equipment we have to purchase
directly from L.I.V.E.S Head office. As a voluntary group this means
raising the funds we need to purchase all our equipment including renting
Oxygen tanks.Below is an indication of all the
Equipment we use and its value...

Skills and equipment which First Responders
are qualified in...
- Use of Automated, External
Defibrillator (AED)

- First Aid, Patient Care and Assessment
- Recognition of cause and type of
illness/injury
- Scene safety and Incident Management
First Responders also undergo retraining
and testing every year to ensure that all team members can give the best
possible care to our community.
Regular team meetings and training exercises also take place at a local
level.
